Bits4Green - Your Contribution to clean and sustainable use of ICT

Are you an entrepreneur in the IT industry and would you like to actively contribute to a more sustainable and green use of ICT? Then join the bits4green initiative which was set up by IICD, the Dutch corporate sector and World PC.

Bits4green is a new programme developed by IICD, a development organisation specialised in solving development issues by using new media, mobile phones, radio and the internet. The programme focuses on reducing energy consumption and e-waste in developing countries.

By supporting bits4green, you show that your company is investing in clean energy and is actively working on a global reduction of electronic waste and energy use in developing countries.

Bits4green is a new programme developed by IICD, a development organisation specialised in solving development issues by using new media, mobile phones, radio and the internet. The programme focuses on reducing energy consumption and e-waste in developing countries.

Companies can contribute to Bits4Green by buying one or more packages. These packages are an investment in energy-efficient IT solutions for schools, hospitals, youth centres and farmer organisations. As a company, you will also receive e-waste certificates from World PC. The e-waste certificates guarantee the safe decommissioning of hardware in Africa and the shipment of the remaining chemical waste to specialist companies in Europe.
